Fig and Hazelnut Oats

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup milk of your choice

1/3 cup oats

1/2 tsp vanilla

3 dried figs, chopped

1 tbsp toasted hazelnuts

In a small saucepan, bring milk and water to a boil. Add the oats and turn the heat down to a simmer. Stir in the vanilla. When most of the liquid has been absorbed into the oatmeal, stir in the chopped figs. When the oatmeal is cooked through, top with toasted hazelnuts.
